How to Install Portainer on Ubuntu 22.04
Portainer Version
In this post, I will use the Community Edition.
Prerequisites
- Docker installed and working on Ubuntu 22.04
Installation
First, create the volume that Portainer Server will use to store its database:
1 | docker volume create portainer_data |
Then, download and install the Portainer Server container:
1 | docker run -d -p 8000:8000 -p 9443:9443 --name portainer --restart=always -v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock -v portainer_data:/data portainer/portainer-ce:latest |
Running docker ps
:
1 | root@server:~# docker ps |
First, retrieve the stack YML manifest:
1 | curl -L https://downloads.portainer.io/ce2-19/portainer-agent-stack.yml -o portainer-agent-stack.yml |
Then use the downloaded YML manifest to deploy your stack:
1 | docker stack deploy -c portainer-agent-stack.yml portainer |
Running docker ps
:
1 | root@server:~# docker ps |
Accessing
Access the Portainer Server on web browser:
1 | https://localhost:9443 |
Replace localhost
with the relevant IP address.
